Networking Groups member Severn Group:

Severn Group are a long-established company. We are Mechanical and Electrical contractors and we specialize in:
  • Mechanical Heating & Hot water systems (Gas & Oil)
  • Electrical installation and maintenance

  • Pipe fitting and Welding
  • Air Conditioning
  • Automatic Controls and BMS

Furthermore we have over 600 individual clients. A considerable number of them have been clients for many years. For instance Birmingham, Shropshire and Worcestershire County Councils including public buildings. Over 20 years we have carried out work in Schools and Leisure centres. Also Sainsbury’s, Thyssen Krupp, Local Housing Associations. The NHS and various manufacturers. As a result of this we work regularly in hotels, hospitals, nursing homes, leisure centers, office buildings, schools and university campuses.

In partnership with Statcom Telecoms

Through Networking Groups Statcom Telecoms were engaged by Severn Group to design, supply and install a system of electrical floor boxes for their client at Tricorn House in the heart of Birmingham. Consequently Statcom Telecoms were asked to provide an office data cabling ethernet system using CAT6 low smoke.

In particular the spec was 168 x CAT6 Low Smoke Ethernet outlets. 122 x of these to be fitted via underfloor channels to the 3 compartment raised floor boxes. 43 x 3 compartment floor boxes. In addition using 60mm x 300mm cable tray all cables were transported underneath the floor . 5 x 24 port CAT6 Patch Panels. Also 1 x 42u 800 x 1000 free standing Server Rack. Power Distribution bars. Cooling Fans. Cable Management. CAT6 Patch Leads. Finally at the end of the project all CAT6 data outlets were Fluke tested and given a site certification. In conclusion the project was completed ahead of schedule and below expected budget.

Statcom Telecoms’ field of expertise was also required for the design an installation of a Wireless Network system using Ubiquiti Unifi hardware. 12 x Ubiquiti UAP AC HD access points were installed supported by Unifi PoE Switches and a Cloud Key Gen 2 controller
